The bike trail runs for more than 75 miles and parallels the Greenbrier River. This is truly a wonderful ride. I recommend mountain bikes or at least tires that are 32mm to 38mm wide. The day we rode we saw black bear cubs on two...More

Really enjoyed the segment from Cass to Marlinton. The next day we hit a 5 mile stretch running south from Jack Horner's Corner where horses were riding. I don't imagine the equestrian folks realize how choppy they make the trail surface. In our area, there...More

We hiked the entire trail in three days 😁 I logged our miles using a GPS and Fitbit. Ended up with a total of 83 miles on foot. Trail is great and the scenery is remarkable. Enjoyed the history along the trail. Found some good...More

This is a great rail trail along the Greenbrier River. Well maintained and lots of access points. Scenic river views and tunnels. Have yet to complete the full 78 miles but enjoyed every mile thus far. Each rail trail has its own history and the...More

The Greenbrier River Trail goes from Cass WV 76 mile to Caldwell, WV . It is mostly gravel and travels through some very remote areas. There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen as well as some farm field and cattle. Most of the...More

My husband and I recently biked this trail south from Renick to Caldwell...about 22 miles. The scenery was gorgeous...but so much of the trail between Renick to Anthony is very narrow 8-10 inch gravel tire tracks ....which were very difficult to bike. In addition, there...More

We have been visiting Seebert, WV for almost 10 years now and love to ride our bikes and walk on the Greenbrier River Trail. There is always wildlife, from deer to Eagles and even sometimes bears. The fall is my favorite time there, with the...More

Found this by accident while looking for the Allegheny Trail. Was unable to take photos but this was beautiful and busy with people of all ages. The paved area in the town was great for biking and near both restaurants, stores, Y, and the river....More

While I have not run the entire trail we have walk a number of segments. The trail is either a groomed gravel path or paved. Being a old railroad grade there are no steep hills.....there are tunnels and bridges over creeks and the Greenbrier river.

Your Best option is to stay in Marlinton. Not a lot of options along the way. Cass is a nice place at the upper end of the trail. Not sure about hotels but they have a nice scenic railroad you can ride .
