First we stopped for a picnic on the beach side (east). There is a small sandy area, with wood & sand "steps" down to the water. I'm not sure how safe it is to swim above a dam, but wading would work fine. The rest of the beach is actually concrete with some picnic tables, so you can eat and... More

The park with the beach and trails is excellent. It's peaceful, beautiful, and full of easy hikes that are good for families. The campground is small without a huge amount of space between sites. The tent camping is not separated from the RV / electrical sites, and the people with electrical hookups left bright lights on and played music well... More

I visited the dells of the eau Claire park with my family (2 kids, 6, 8 years), and another family (3 kids, 4,6, and 8 years), July 22-24, 2016. It was a relatively nice stay. Hiking trail (ice age trail) was 2 miles round trip with neat rock formations , plants, fungi, animals to explore. Water was quite pleasant, maybe... More

Beautiful sites and great hiking trails. Make sure to wear your tennis shoes or hiking boots and also bring your camera. We hiked 5 miles and didn't even get to see all the wonderful views. I will definitely be returning.

The Dells of the Eau Claire river are really a neat thing to have nearby. I especially like going there when we have the spring run off.

This is one of our favorite places to visit when in the Wausau area. We approached the area from the north and were happy that the bridge closure didn't prevent us from getting into the parking area. It did though keep us from doing our usual loop down along the river, over the pedestrian bridge, and back on the south... More

The dells of the Eau Claire are lovely. I wouldn't travel, however, more than an hour or two to visit the Dells. We've visited this area several times. In an hour or so of hiking around you can easily see all the sites. The falls at the Dells are nice, but small. If you lived in the area, it would... More

This is one of my favorite parks to go to when I'm in the Wausau area. My last visit was when the water was starting to thaw and there was ice and water rushing all around. There are rocks to climb and to sit on to just enjoy the view and take a moment to just relax and take in... More

Our favorite things to see when visiting a park, rock and water! While staying in Wausau, Wisconsin one October weekend, we visited this park. What a great idea! as the trees were beautiful, the waterfall area was awesome. We hiked along the river on a couple of simple trails. There were tons of picture-taking opportunities. There were hardly any other... More

We were looking for things to do in the area and found this park not too far from town. It's a nice area with several options as far as activities. There is a nice playground, picnic area, hiking and biking trails. The cascades area is really nice if you just want to be near the river and enjoy the sounds... More
