I was traveling by car from Palm Springs to Las Vegas and came across Roy’s unexpectedly. Even more unexpected was I was on historic Route 66! Roy’s cafe is in the absolute middle of nowhere (and it was 101 degrees outside) so everyone was stopping...More

This is an iconic pit stop in the desert - drab, run down, a bit dirty and run by a bit of a character. They sell a few snacks and a few souvenirs. We understood the motel itself is actually closed (last used as a...More

A great place to pull up and re-fresh when you're travelling along Route 66. The old motel buildings are no longer used, they are well maintained as a piece of history.

Stopped in this little oasis on our motorcycles. The air conditioning, cold water, and friendly gentleman that runs the gift shop was a welcome sight in the 113 degree heat. Definitely a trip back in Time sitting at the counter!

I’ve made to trip from San Diego to Laughlin NV a handful of times with my brother and his family...a long drive but worth it. We always stop at Roy’s and man has it changed over the years. Now, this isn’t an actual Cafe but...More

The Roy's Cafe sign on Route 66 in Amboy is one of the most photographed signs in the world. This is a wonderful stop in the desert of Southern California. Just make sure you don't need gas when you get here. Very expensive.

Roy’s Motel Cafe and the post office are the only two gigs in town. There’s not much to the store, the gas is overpriced, and the bathrooms are stinky and dirty. But, that’s the point, right? Take a trip in the way-back machine to Route...More

We stopped here on a recommendation from a friend. We had a quick bite to eat and a drink. Both our fathers are harley davidson fans so we brought them some souvenirs. The man behind the counter was polite and friendly and offered to post...More

Roy's Motel is today more of a historical site and seen by many as a ghost town. It is a wonderful place to view what life on the road would have been like back in the glory days of Route 66.
