Tucked away in the Animation Studio section, you get to see some great displays of animation and what illustrators do to make movies. This exhibit is extremely interactive and fun for all the ages.

This place was really interesting. If you walk past the lanes waiting for Anna and Elsa (In the Animation Studio), you'll see the entrance to this Workshop with little to no line. Before and after you enter the Beast's library, you can let your kids explore the fascinating tricks and Illusions all around the room, all of which are interactive. While in the Beast's library, wait your turn to get to one of the many magic books that will reveal which Disney character is most like you based on questions you answer. It is a quick stop and fun for everyone!

The deal with the Sorcerer's Workshop is that you get to do stuff. You are given a piece of paper, and by drawing pictures on the right place, you can actually create your own animation if you put it on the spinning wheel. We spent ages, twice, drawing pictures and trying to make them work. The adjacent Beauty and the Beat Library was excellent also, although more for the visuals than the "discover what Disney character" game they had.

The Sorcerer's Workshop is inside the Animation Studio Building in Hollywood Land in California Adventure.
I like to spend time. They have "touch screen" books. One can take a picture of oneself. Then you get to answer a set of questions and figure out which Disneyland character is most like "you".
You can also find out by looking at an exhibit on a wall which Disneyland characters have the same astrological sign.
There is also Ursula's Cave. One can say a few lines or sing a song and insert it into a short movie.
Depending on one's interest it can be a short visit or spend an hour or so doing the different activities.
