It was okay. Staff was friendly. A little hot as there was zero air conditioning in most of the exhibits but overall a decent, fair experience.

I thought a bunch of wagons and carriages might be boring, but we had a great time looking at each one, debating which of the small black ones would have belonged to Doc Adams in Gunsmoke. We finally did find one exactly like it.

Angels Camp is located in Calaveras County, California, USA. It is a small town with total area of 9.3 km2 (3.6 mi2) and was founded by George Angel in 1849, who established a mining camp and trading store. This small town was popular when the...More

Don't miss this museum. If you "just drive by", you may think it's a single building. It's not! Several buildings are behind it, in the design of an old stamp mill, and it's well worth the visit. It's actually located at the site of an...More

We came into town and this was our first stop. I saw that on some Saturdays they have docents show skills from life during the gold rush days. There is a small house up at the road and 2 large structures down the hill that...More

This looks at first like a small place, but it has a big area and more buildings in back. The signage throughout was excellent and informative. A great collection of carriages and wagons.

We had driven by a few times before we finally stopped by. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the museum included 2 large warehouse buildings behind the small museum on the Main Street. The front building had an informative display about Mark Twain and...More

We were so impressed with how many exhibits and items were on display. The transportation building has old wagons, buggies, and stagecoach, as well as a freight buckboard wagon. You get a real sense of the size of these and how they were operated. The...More

The museum is in 4 parts. We saw 3 of them. We learned about the area's history and brought back schooling on the gold rush days. It was all fascinating.

From the street, this museum looks somewhat small, but... there are additional buildings & grounds to see! We (daughter & I) visited in Jan 2017 & had a great time! The front building is only a small portion of the museum grounds - there are...More

I was there in October. The museum is amazing. The books include a lot of history, gold rush, the land, and a few about women in that era. I think some related to Mark Twain. I didn't buy any books, but I looked at a... More
