Nice surprise. Great scenery in town. We stayed in a home on Union near by. I actually enjoyed city Redwood parks as much or more than the forests.

We hiked in the area and really enjoyed the old trees and peacefulness of the area. There were horses, bikes and other hikers but it was not disturbing. Truly a jewel of Arcata.

This park is beautiful and peaceful. Many trails to choose from and connected to Redwood park which has a great playground for the kids.
