I used to live in Arcata, and each time I return, the Arcata Marsh is a must!! Talk about a great walk with beautiful views...wow! This place is so very special...lots of wildlife (especially birds) and wonderful walking trails! It's always a place of serenity...More

Lots of intersecting paths throughout the sanctuary. Marsh areas, lakes, coastline - so nice variety of birds. They also have guided walks if desired.

This place was perfect for people that want to see nature but aren't experienced hikers or nature enthusiasts. The museum on the property was fun and accessible and the staff was relaxed and welcoming

You'd never know by looking at it that the Arcata Marsh is actually a working--and groundbreaking--wastewater treatment plant. What's more, you probably don't need to know that in order to enjoy a walk along its many trails. You can just take in the beautiful view...More

I've often walked the marah. It's a beautiful treasure for visiting, especially at dawn or dusk. The recent trail upgrades are so nice.
