There are many expensive and unaffordable places in this place. Totally out of reach of average person.

The Green Pleasure Pier is one of the great points of history in California that remains unchanged and magical for young and old, locals and tourists.

Take a stroll on the pier. Most water based tours start here, info booth and greasy food and beers at Eric's. You can fish here without a license, or just look at the fish, the water is so clear. Glad it has not changed...even the color.

There is not much more iconic, than the pier in Avalon.
Just strolling the short length takes you back in time to a much simpler life.
There are people fishing, others leaving on submarines and boat rentals!

Touristy but has everything you need. All water activities can be booked here. Also, transportation to Two Harbors.

The very few piers I've been on that actually has a really nice clean with beautiful tiled bathrooms. There are a few shops and restaurants on the pier. The Jet Ski companies boat leaves from this location.

Avalon was a pretty little town nestling around a bay at the foot of hills. There were many restaurants and touristy shops. The Green Pier was much smaller than we’d imagined. The Casino building was very impressive, dominating one end of the bay. We wanted to walk there and see the famous ballroom but were disappointed to be told that we could only look inside if we booked a tour at the Green Pier.

We stopped for a quick bite to eat on the pier prior to taking the red semi-sub which docks at the far end of the pier. The tour of the fish sanctuary was marvelous, with amazing fish including the golden garibaldis swimming all around you. It's a tour you shouldn't miss when coming to Catalina Island.

Are you able fish from the pier or from anywhere on the island? Also what kinds of boats can you rent from the pier?
