A charming hike onto the southeastern edge of the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant property, led by knowledgeable volunteers, to learn about the natural history of the central coast. I am glad Diablo Canyon is finally slated to go off-line. The geology study that allowed the plant was completely bogus; such a plant should NEVER have been built there. Still, I... More

This is a quaint little light house. It is part of the local charm in this area. Take the time to head out to the pier and see the sea lions up close.

We went up there for a dinner event with one of the local wineries and really enjoyed it. Did not know it was even there.

What an amazing way to spend 4 hours!...freah air, spectacular views, history, exercise, and fun! We took the guided hike to the lighthouse. We reserved our places online & meet our volunteer hiking docent on a Wednesday at 8:45 am. The group departed at 9 from the San Louis Harbor. The hike (I think it was 2 miles one way)... More

My wife and I made reservations to join a ranger escorted hike from the Nuclear Power Plant to the Point Luis Lighthouse. Relatively easy hike but be sure to wear appropriate shoes and a jacket if it's cold. The lighthouse was very interesting and is still being restored. The ranger talked about native plants on the hike and the lighthouse's... More

We quite enjoyed this short easy hike to the lighthouse. The docent led hike was worthwhile - our docent was very knowledgeable - Dave - and did a good job on both natural and human history. The walk isnt bad - they take lots of breaks. Dont miss this one!

Jump on the trolley and ride for about 15 minutes with a view of some of the most beautiful central coastline around. Once you get to the lighthouse, the tour is fabulous and very informative. The docents are very knowledgeable.

Where do I start? We've seen whales from the bluffs and heard it is common to see them go by during the season. The historic buildings are beautifully restored and the docents give a great history at the scheduled tours. You can take the trolley (but need to sign up), hike (also need to sign up) or paddleboard/kayak any time... More

My wife and I really enjoy lighthouses. The architecture, history, scenery etc is always fun. This location is beautiful. The docents were friendly and very knowledgeable. My wife is handicapped and they were able to accommodate her needs. The story behind the lighthouse and how the keepers lived was fascinating. I would recommend this highly.
