So fun just hanging out at the beach.. it's always good at the beach.. but.. especially when there's rafts of otters just offshore floating and hanging out. no waves so it's safe for little ones..

The view is spectacular no doubt! But beware of the steep hill. There are areas a person could literally fall off the cliff. Scary at certain points. There even are rappelling ropes tied to help people down or up the steep hill/cliff to get down...More

This secluded beach is a bit of a hike to get to. Park on the Avila side and hike over. There are usually seals on the rocks.

Pirate's Cove is a neat little beach, a nude beach, at the end of a not very good long dirt trail. People often fall off the edge while in the parking lot. Not very well maintained.

Beautiful spot with crashing waves and great photo opps. Take a watch south down the beach around the big rocky outcrop to find a hidden and semi-secluded beach. Very nice.

Learned of pirates cove as a whaling location. All the years of wicked whaling is hard to erase from these grounds. Still, lovely history and the images of people that were here.

We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent here towards the end of our hectic two week tour of California, recharging our batteries, before heading to the more cosmopolitan Venice Beach in Los Angeles. It is a sheltered natural cove beach and the path down and...More

I was travelling down the coast and heard about this beach and the fact you're allowed to be au natural so thought i would check it out. The hike down is quite fun and a good walk. There are some ropes and man made steps...More
