Beautiful Lake and great trout fishing - the hike up to Magnolia Mills is easy and we'll worth it. There is a beautiful stream cascading down next to the Mill to Montgomery reservoir.

Nice side trip. We explored the Magnolia Mine and hiked along the Wheeler Trail. Lots of historic sites beyond the reservoir.

Lovely mountain reservoir! We had fun catching and releasing trout. Restroom facilities would be nice though.

This is a beautiful mountain lake. The hike up the waterfall is a "don't miss" hike. You can catch a lot of trout near the dam.

After reading the positive reviews, we added this to our Colorado itinerary and so glad we did. First of all, I can't imagine doing ANY of the rugged mountain roads in Colorado without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. That's what we rented for our trip and good thing because a car would have never made it up the roads we... More

This lake is absolutely beautiful! A little challenging to get to in a normal vehicle; jeep or something similar is better for the gravel roads. Caught lots of trout on spinning rods; used little spinners & also power bait with bobbers. Had a blast! Also the hike up to the waterfall & old mine is worthwhile.

Great fishing, great views and take the time to drive up to the waterfall and then look around the old gold mine

We had heard that this was a great place for trout fishing. A trip to Walmart to buy poles, license and worms - great day! We didn't go any further than the water, but it was beautiful!

Take county road 4 about 11 miles south of Breckenridge. It's a dirt road but drivable with a sedan, SUV would help, just go slow. The reservoir is beautiful and we were here in September and it was not crowded. You can drive all the way back to a waterfall and gold mine. Stay on the road going on the... More
