Love this spot. Beautiful scenery, nice trail. My parents took me here as a teen and I've brought my kids and friends here. Great spot for a picnic. Be sure and go into the ice caves if you can. When we were here last, there...More

Finding the trail can be tricky as you wander along exposed boulders but the access to these caves should not be very far from the parking lot. The caves can be best accessed by the side nearest the parking lot, take care to climb down...More

The grottos trail features some unusal rock formations and numerous cascades. It is overall an easy trail, but can be slippery. Parking is limited.

I found out about this trail when I was looking for waterfalls and caves near Aspen. This place is so picturesque! It's a short hike up to see the caves, they had a lot of water from a recent snow, but no ice. It would...More

I only hiked a small part of this trail, but it looked pretty cool! Amazing what water can do to the rocks! Plus it's a place where you can swim / take a dip.

Lovely nature experience halfway up the road to Independence Pass from Aspen. The short drive off the road is partly unpaved and bumpy. Be careful if you don't have a high clearance car. Limited parking, latrines available. Picnic tables near the entrance as well as...More

The Grottoes trail is not connected to a campsite. There is a campsite not far from there called "Difficult Campground ". Call the U S Forest Service for information.
