We were thrilled to hear about this from other travelers at the Ritz. It is a beautiful little hike, not too far to walk to be in the heart of the mountains!

I've been here a couple of times and I try to do it beginning of spring since you can see ice caves there. It is a nice easy hiking trail.

When the sun is shining into the grottos it just lights up. Interesting to see how a little bit of water can carve the rock.

Location: It's on your left about 9 miles east of Aspen if you're traveling westbound on Highway 82. If you pass Weller Lake you've gone too far. Easy hike through dirt and smooth rock surfaces. Just follow the signs and your ears and you will...More

The Grottoes trail is not connected to a campsite. There is a campsite not far from there called "Difficult Campground ". Call the U S Forest Service for information.
