What an awesome place! The Forest Service opens up this beautiful alpine spot - a gorgeous lake surrounded by twin snow-covered 14'ers, with 360 views of other mountains as well. It's incredible and awe inspiring! Best hike in Aspen! The Scenic Trail is absolutely worth...More

Beautiful, easy hike for most. Don't miss this while you're in Aspen. The Maroon Lake Trail is about 10,000ft above sea level. There are toilets and a water fountain, but no other facilities or vendors.

One of the most picturesque spots in Colorado. Don't miss this spot. Bring you camera and hiking boots.

The trail to Maroon Lake is easy. It is very much worth it as the reflection on the lake is breathtaking! It is a photographer's paradise!

We were here in late September to hopefully see some aspen leaf color and weren't disappointed. Nice easy hike with great views.

Perfect hike for beginners. you can choose to just go around half of the lake and then go back, or you can continue thru the woods. not much elevation gain. you'll easily burn up your phone taking pictures. not a bad view anywhere you look.

We have hiked over to Crested Butte from here taking us about 8-9 hours because we take so many photographs especially when we've done it in the fall.

Loved the hike. We did the shorter trail one day and then returned to hike to Crater Lake. Loved it. Not easy but not terrible. Hubby and I are 60 plus in decent shape but not athletes. We did fine. Just not a fast trip.

I have hiked Maroon Bells in the summer and it is unbelievable, but now I have snowshoed it in the winter and it is breathtaking! The snowshoe is 3 miles longer each way since they have to close the road in the winter, so make...More

Yes, the Disabled placard is one of the exceptions for users who can drive into the Maroon Bells area. There is a $10 recreation use fee. See stayaspensnowmass for more details

I dont know about the parking but i can tell you about the trail. It is narrow at some points (need to move in a single file, one after another) and wider at other points. It is definitely rocky but not very steep. I mean... More
