Elk Mountain Expeditions (EME) opened its doors in 2012 with the intent to bring a more personalized experience to the rafting industry. After 10 years working with many large rafting companies around the country we decided to start a company that is free of all the problems that accompany big business rafting. Smaller trips with highly trained guides, no hidden fees, and attention to detail set us apart from other companies in the Roaring Fork Valley. At EME, we are dedicated to providing excellent customer experiences on and off the water.

Come out and see the difference a passionate and dedicated team of employees can make on your next river adventure. We are excited to share Aspen's beautiful rivers with you and your family.

We traveled to Aspen for the first time in August with another family. We were concerned that we would have a hard time finding activities with our kids since the youngest was four. We booked a rafting trip with Elk Mountain expeditions and everything was amazing...from the time we booked the trip to the time we said goodbye! The employees... More

We went fishing one day with them and. Rafting another. The guides for both were great. They made sure everyone was safe and had fun. Very high energy and make sure everyone is involved They kept it lite and fun. And they did not charge extra for photos !!! When does that happen? 100 per person for rafting was very... More

We had a day to ourselves when we dropped our son to boarding school and we had the pleasure of going on a white water rafting experience with this company. Whilst my husband found the waters a little tame it was just right for me (ok ok so I wanted to see a little more white water but was very... More

We were two families with 5 kids aged 4-9 and we had such a great experience we booked with them again three days later. Thanks Bones, Tyler and the entire team for a great time. Even though the water was low we still enjoyed it. Bonus they emailed us pictures from our trip as part of the price of the... More

We had the best time with Elk Mountain Expeditions!!! We had some pretty young kids in our group (ages 5-7), so I was worried that it would either be too scary or too slow. The guides (Casey and Mike) were so nice and sweet to the kids. They explained how the trip was going to go beforehand, so the kids... More

Wanted to give my wife, 5yo daughter, 11yo daughter, and 7yo nephew their first rafting experience with hopes they would have fun and want to do more trips. I called and spoke with Elk Mountain about my concern of having a float that was exciting enough to be fun for the little ones but not scare them into not wanting... More

I'm so glad the kids had fun! The Lower Fork would have been too mellow for your group. Thanks for the review! More

My group of 6 went on the upper roaring fork trip and we can't rave enough about the experience. Everyone was professional and friendly, with Mike Bone highlighting the trip as a terrific guide and Casey as our driver/photographer. Right after the trip, we received a link to download pics for free - not something I found with any other... More

You never know what level of ability you need for a white water raft trip. ... this local, very friendly crew on Elk Mountain perfectly balanced the fun and thrill of a great raft adventure...with personal care and attention while skillfully navigating 8 miles of rocks and currents, often with questionable help from the 6 to 60 year olds on... My son and I did a half day with Adam from elk mountain expeditions. Booking the trip was very easy and the outfitter was very accommodating. Our guide arrived early and stated late. He brought cold drinks and snacks, but more importantly was very knowledgeable, skilled and patient. He spotted fish for us, had great gear for us to use,... More

We had a really good experience with this company. They bent over backwards to ensure we had an excellent trip down the river, but still stay safe. Highly recommend using their services.
