One of the gold rings for a ski bum is gaining access to a hot tub. My son was getting pre-college instruction in the fine art of belonging anywhere. Aspen was a particular challenge for the car camping father/son spring breakers. The bonding time in our Honda element was special but after three days well.... We found the Aspen Rec... More

Wish we were staying longer and could have enjoyed all the different options this place offers. As it was we just went sledding. Only $5 to rent a sled and head out back to the sledding hill. We went before school had let out for Christmas so we had the place to ourselves. Checking out everything else the pool looked... More

The ARC has just about everything you could want for indoor (and some outdoor) recreation pursuits. Built by the city of Aspen about 10 years ago, this place is fantastic! It has dedicated lanes for lap swimming, a lazy river and water slide for the kids, an Olympic sized ice rink, a 35 foot climbing tower, weight and exercise room... More

We were staying in Aspen a few days and gave the kids a break from hiking and headed here for some "kid fun" .. We have 3 kiddos (3,5,10) it cost the 5 of us almost $90 for a day pass to play in the pool area (pool, lazy river, kiddy shallow area & large slide) and the rock-climbing area.... More

We stopped on arrival for a bathroom stop. After walking around discovered the Ice rink and a climbing wall. After returning to the parking lot their is a paved trail to take a shirt hike. Overall would say don't bother.

We brought kids here while visiting over summer. Great indoor ice skating ring. $18 day pass plus $3 skate rental fee. Very friendly staff. Snack shop. They also have indoor pool with lazy river and rock climbing. Great indoor activities for rainy days or just something to do for an afternoon with kids.

A very good recreation center with some great facilities. The staff was always nice and the facilities are well maintained and always clean. There's plenty for everyone to find something including ice rink, pool, hot tubs, steam room and sauna, cardio room and weights room, rock climbing wall and others. This all in addition to the nearby outdoor football and... More

We were in town for an ice skating competition at the Lewis ice arena, which is part of the Aspen Rec Center, so we spent the majority of a weekend here. The rec center offers nice amenities and while a bit pricey ($15 for visitors) would be a great place for kids to swim if you have some time. The... More

We only did the pool, but there were quite a few other activities. The last 90 minutes are a great deal, if price is an issue (which is was for us). The slide was fun, the lazy river is the fastest we've been in, and if you wanted to swim laps, the pool is beautiful. We highly recommend it!

The way the instructors handled the little children are amazing. Love it to watch them teaching the little ones to swim
