Spring stay

We stay here every spring and fall on our way between the mountains of Colorado and the Rio Grand Vally. Most sites are level and clean. Deer wander through the park all the time.

Fabulous and easy to access with State Park pass. Thousands of acres and miles of trails. Off leash area for good dogs, horse rental, fishing. Like birds? My favorites include pelicans, bald eagles, red tailed hawks, ducks, wigeons and coots in the numerous wetlands. Great family areas. Sandy beaches, RVcamping, spaces to play. Caution: the main paved trails are used... More

There are a lot of areas I don't use at this park--shooting range, fishing, camping but I appreciate the bike trails and photography. Colorado is a semi arid climate, but there's so much water in the area that you can see birds you wouldn't see in much of Colorado.

Cherry Creek is a nice lake to spend the day on. It is on the south side of Denver. Great place for boating and camping.

The sunsets are gorgeous over the lake. Such a beautiful park with a swimming lake, picnic areas, wildlife viewing, open areas to roam.

A beautiful afternoon at Cherry Creek State Park. Archery rental bow $30, parking $9, had personal how-to help from Park Ranger. Take the drive and enjoy the majesty of the range and mountains. Bathrooms in the rental booth Axe throwing, skeet, target practice. Safety presentation and gear throughly explained.

This was bigger than we expected. It was so pretty and quiet. Lots of people biking and a few walking the trails. Wildlife was everywhere.
