I stopped in here while wandering Apalachicola with my 2 year old. It was welcoming offering a variety of books for all ages. I happened to see some gifts, teas as well as other items I would have loved to peruse. My error was having brought my 2 year old in with me. She had no interest in being indoors... More

After lunch at The Owl, my husband and I stopped by Downtown Books and Purl. What a delightful shop! There was a great selection of regional literature including both fiction and natural history as well as guides for various aspects of Panhandle "nature". This grandma was pleased to discover an excellent selection of children's books as well. The books were... More

Where else could you find: amazing books, gourmet tea and accessories, unique coloring pencils and books, yarn, gorgeous french cards and a delightful owner who is also a major( as is yours truly ) " Confederacy of Dunes" fan ? None but here that I am aware of. This is a wonderful place to peruse and feel at home. I... More

Found cards, magazines, books, an owner (who was both knowledgeable and charming). This town is so lucky to have this shop and it speaks well for a community that supports this shop..... And I wish I could knit. Lovely colorful yarn tucked in the back of the store.

Dale will order books for me whenever I run short. She has given me several recommendations for authors to try, all of which have been good reads. The Bookstore kitties are following in the pawprints of Buddy, the Bookstore Cat & provide a welcome worthy of their jobs as book ambassadors. =^..^=

What a fun bookstore! It had local authors as well as national ones on the NY Times bestseller list in a very sweet old building near the waterfront. The owner is very sociable and helpful. I actually bought yarn for a sweater and the woman who owns that part was super helpful. She has a very nice selection of yarn... More

Absolutely adorable book shop. If you're looking for something with local information they have everything about Florida, and of course the classics and popular literature. They have amazing children's books about the beach and Florida also. Our boys loved it and we plan on coming back!

A cute little bookstore with a small but sufficient inventory. There is a yarn section for as my knitters.

If you are a knitter like I am, this store holds a small, but well stocked section of quality yarns in the back and books for the rest of your party to browse in the front. I was able to buy some new to me brands of yarn such as Queensland Collection and Viking of Norway and some old favorites... More
