The Arcadia Opera House, built in 1906, is a museum and enormous antique shop. It houses an amazing collection of historical items and the theater is in near original condition. Several paranormal investigations have taken place there and the Opera House is a well know haunted location.

Although the old down town has become an antique store area, the town itself has went down hill a lot since the 90s. It was always mostly an agricultural town with some retirement areas but now has become what is called "little Mexico" A lot...More

Could have spent hours there, from room to room looking at all the antic and interesting stuff they have, but we ran out of time. This is a great antic shop, with a lot of history. Definitely a must do when in Arcadia.

It's always a pleasure to visit the Opera House for the history and treasures. This isn't exactly the best place on Oak Street to find a really valuable Bonafide antique, but it's great for "junk" pickers that don't want to spend a lot of money....More

It was an interesting visit in an old opera house. I wondered what it was like in it's heyday. A mix of art available for sale, clothing, and assorted items to look at in the rooms mixed in with local items of interest. I did...More

It looks like years ago someone shut down the theater, pushed a lot of thespian material against the wall and said" Hey ! Let's sell some stuff outta here". I love this place. it's an antique shop, an attraction and tour all in one place....More

Like most of Arcadia which has been repurposed to an antique heaven, so too has this early 1900 Opera House. The original stage is still in tact, on hand are the early film projectors with which 30s/40s movies were shown here, and original seats. Most...More

We thought we couldn't miss the opportunity to see the space rebuilt in 1906. It was full of a wide range of antiques and stuff. It lacked high quality items with mostly items of regular American Life--not a whole lot different than the 20 plus...More

This is a great place to visit, even if you aren't an antique collector. The entrance could be an obstacle for many people. It is a very steep and long walk up stairs. If you can do it, iy is worth the effort. Many interesting...More

Wonderful, Wonderful Place. We loved it, James I believe was his name, answered all of our questions, even gave us a little bit of history. This was our second time here and I would definitely return.

I lived in Arcadia in the 80s for 10 years. Its changed but not for the better. Many people in North Port and PC and Punta Gorda make fun of Arcadia call it little Mexico. Its went down hill a lot over the past 20...More
