Beautifully done, but not in a safe area. Go in the middle of the day! :)

The statue of Ray Charles playing the piano is beautiful. The fountain adds a wow factor and then when his songs started playing, it was amazing. The piano keyboard walkway leading to the statue is so clever. The park and area surrounding the statue is beautiful. It is well worth the stop.

We are very proud that our city was able to accomplish such a beautiful area in memory of Ray Charles. It is a nice place to visit and a great area for photos, but do not go into this area after dark as it can become dangerous. It is definitely worth a visit though, because it was so thoughtfully executed... More

Music is part of the experience as you begin your walk. Ray Charles is represented in music, sculpture, and other ways. Wonderful scenic walk down to the river, then back up through the military memorials.Right downtown, and we watched couples in swings, kids playing, and a soccer game, demonstrating the community use of this area. We were very impressed with... More

The statue in the middle of the plaza looked so much like Ray Charles that you almost expected it to sing. His music played in the background and there was ion each side gigantic piano keys made into the sidewalk. My husband and I really enjoyed it.

Lots to look at here. The unusual sidewalk of inlaid music notes, to the piano key seats. The Ray Charles statue rotates and plays his music, as well as the fountain changes colors. Very pretty and peaceful place to visit. Right across the street from the Hilton Hotel.

I found this park to be well maintained and a great place to just sit and relax. The Ray Charles exhibit is quite nice! As the Ray spins slowly around a cascading water fountain with his many hit songs playing, you can't help feel the goodness of this park. I highly recommend a visit!

The park itself is nice but there are a lot of homeless there in the afternoon, many begging for money. In the morning hours not as much activity

Great place to see and walk along the water front. Didn't know Albany had so much history, and Ray Charles{ birthplace too. Recommend taking a lite picnic basket, and bring the kids for a fun treat. And do check out the bronze sculpture of Ray Charles while relaxing in the plaza.
