A family-owned business established in 1984 on the island of Ambergris Caye, Amigos Del Mar, started off as a tiny dock on the beach with nothing but a thatched roof and a group of brothers along with a few of their close friends and an aspiration to share the best of their home with the world. Amigos Del Mar is an SSI Diamond Dive Center and SDI resort facility which specializes in full-service diving, instruction, snorkeling, boat charters and is ideally situated in the heart of San Pedro Town.

Solid dive shop with friendly service

My sons and I went diving with Amigos Del Mar at Ambergris Caye and had a good experience. They were professional and fun. We did the Hol Chan trip with three snorkelers in our group, and I would definitely recommend this. Soup and Birdman were standouts among the solid staff.

They took safety in diving very seriously and did not pressure you underwater to finish at a certain time, but let you dive your air.

Excellent snorkeling tour to the reef and shark ray alley.

We chartered a private snorkel tour for four. It was reasonably priced and our guide (Said? Not sure how to spell that) was very knowledgable and fun. We felt safe and saw
lots of marine life. Highly recommend!

Experience Belize underwater!

Great one stop shop for diving and more! We really appreciated the pick up from our resort every morning and the crew takes care of the gear. We dive a little of everything: local dives with Tony, Blue Hole, Turneffe, and Hol Chan. We saw lots of sharks on local dives, but beware the conditions were rough getting out there. Hol Chan was amazing, Birdman and Danny were great guides for our full day tour which included shark alley, caye caulker, tarpon feeding, seahorse sanctuary, and manatee sighting...all in one day!! Blue hole is a must see, and lunch at half moon caye, bird tower, and the diving was such a great experience. Turneffe was a special treat with pristine feet, sharks and more. On the full day tours the crew took care of us with fresh fruit, lunch and rum punch at the end of the day. Highly recommend!

Great Experience

This is a great dive shop. We did 18 local dives with Tony and Shamir. Rene and JC even helped out when needed.. Good boats, professional crews. Highly recommended for all experience levels. We'll be back!

Great Service

Amigos crew did an excellent job hosting my son and I on multiple dives.
Vladimir and Kyle did an excellent job putting our package together.

We did the blue hole trip and it was great.
Carlos and Danny took us fishing and caught some nice fish and had a great shore lunch.
Samir(Captain) and Toni(dive master) did an excellent job on our local dives.
Highly recommended.

The Best Place in San Pedro for diving, snorkeling and excursions!

Amigos Del Mar is more than just a dive shop. It's also a great place to book tours and excursions! When the forecast called for a day to windy to dive, we decided to book an excursion to mainland Belize. Kyle Crimmins was very accommodating, booking our trip within one day's notice! We took. short 29 minute flight to Belize City airport where we were met by our very friendly guide, Shaid. He first took us to the Xunantunich Mayan ruins where he shared his extensive knowledge of the Mayan history. From there he took us to the Caves Branch where we had a blast ziplining. Our zipline guides, Glen and Dewana were very congenial - taking videos and pictures with our phones so we'd have the experience on record, and they took every precaution to make sure we were safe. After ziplining, we changed clothes and walked the 30 minute hike to float on tubes through an extensive cave system. Shaid accompanied us and once again, impressed us with his vast knowledge of the history of the area and was able to answer all of our questions. Upon exiting the cave, Shaid pointed out a family of howler monkey playing in a nearby tree! Lunch was provided for us at the Cave Branch site and was a delicious plate of barbecue chicken, beans & rice, and slaw. I can't say enough about Shaid - he made sure we stayed hydrated and safe throughout the trip, and by the time we said "good-bye," I felt like we had made a friend. Highly recommend Amigos Del Mar for a wide range of excursion options and extremely attentive and courteous service!

Bird is the Word

My college-age son and I spent 2 days snorkeling with “Bird” from Amigos Del Mar on in San Pedro, Belize in May of 2023. It was our first legit snorkeling experience and we were happy for Bird to take us under his wing. His rich experience, deep knowledge, and great sense of humor made for a couple of great days, and memories that will last a lifetime. Bird is the word.

Hol Chan & Shark Ray alley snorkeling

We had a half day snorkeling trip with Bird!! Hol Chan & Shark Ray Alley. Wow! It’s crowded, but totally worth it. Bird really knows his stuff and how the currents work so you never felt like you were fighting the current. He found so many fish that we hadn’t seen before and more coral than we had seen at other sites. Swimming with the sharks was a bucket list experience!! Also, Vladimir in the shop was pretty cool. He helped us book both of our tours & remembered us and took care of several little details that seemed above & beyond. Overall both trips we did were top notch!

Superior dive team and amazing trip to Blue Hole.

Wow! I am simply amazed by the service of this dive company and our specific dive team - Captain Andre and dive guides George and Imar. We had checked out all the dive companies going to Blue Hole the week we were there and Amigos Del Mar rose above them all - plus they were highly recommended by another group who just completed the Blue Hole dive and were staying at our resort. We are so fortunate for this recommendation! First there was NO pickup charge to come get us at the resort (another company charged $50 US). Vladimir was very patient with us to make our final reservations and he made sure to call us in time so that we did not miss our chance to reserve. The trip was phenomenal. First a yummy breakfast before the boat took off. The boat was very clean and comfortable and the dive crew kept it clean the whole time. Yes it is a long boat ride but very smooth with special thanks to Captain Andre. The care and humor provided by the dive team ensured comfort with plenty of treats and scenery along the way. The dive briefings were thorough and George and Imar were clearly making sure we would have safe, enjoyable dives. The three dives were awesome!!! Besides the Blue Hole, such a unique experience, the sharks on the second dive and conchs on the third dive were especially memorable. Lunch was amazing at Half Moon Caye and of course the Rum Punch after diving was completed was a very special treat. Stellar day, superior customer service! I am a recently retired scuba instructor and my husband is a master scuba diver with many trips under our belts and this dive operation and crew are simply the BEST we have experienced!

We did the Hol Chan Marine Reserve 1 Tank Dive and Shark Ray Alley snorkel combo. Our guides were George and Danny. We can't recommend them enough. It was a great trip, and they were very knowledgeable! We felt safe at all times, definitely would use them again!
