An awesome island for that getaway. While a tourist destination it didn't have the hustle and bustle of a lot of places like this. Quiet but still has plenty to offer. Good places to eat, some night life and a great place for scuba diving
Caye Caulker is a chilled out paradise. We spent 5 days on the island and had a great time. Only 3 roads on the island, no cars, only golf buggys and bikes... Everything is in walking distance but there are plenty of golf buggys you...More

A very small island where everything is relaxed, the locals are very friendly and will always help if you have any questions. Really enjoyed spending a week here, eating, drinking, relaxing, diving, snorkelling and having fun :)
This is the smallest island I've seen and you can walk it from one side to the other in 20 minutes or so (slow walk). It's a place to relax, go snorkelling and diving and just enjoy. Ideal for a 2-3 day stay with a...More

They would definitely still enjoy it! The scenery itself is an attraction. There are plenty of things to do there even if they don’t like to drink. Of course there are bars everywhere, but I wouldn’t think of Caye Caulker as a party island unless you make it one. There are several restaurants that have great food after a day of snorkeling or diving. The Lazy Lizard is more of an outside bar/restaurant, but they serve virgin drinks and have phenomenal food! If you get bored (which we never do) you can hop on the water taxi and visit Ambergris Caye. It is more fast pace than CC so it has have shops and restaurants to explore.
Riding bikes on the island is an adventure itself, there are so many areas to explore sans booze.
If you decide to visit, your family may enjoy doing Carlos says sunset cruise one evening. It’s truly an island experience that even non-drinkers should enjoy!!

Beer and rum are your cheapest options... Belikin Beer is king, followed by Land Shark (which I didn’t care for) and Lighthouse... go to Amigos grocery and buy it by the case. About $1.25 a bottle US Dollars... with thee .25 cent deposit per bottle. Belikin is yummy. On average drinking beer everywhere on the island is cheep. In restaurants 2-3 US maximum price. All prices are in Belizian Dollars and EXACTLY 2x US Dollars. Rum drinks a plenty and range between $2.00 - 6.00 US depending on size and mixtures. Another hint is buy your rum and vodka at the duty free at Belize airport... and buy mixes at the multiple grocery/convenience stores... again Amigos had good competitive prices.
FOOD - IS - AMAZING and so many types and prices. Street Meat in-front of the basketball court! You need to do this at least once... Buritos and other eats... We got 2 HUGE burritos and 2 pompousas for $5.50 TOTAL... Delish.
Other meals average 6 - 12 dollars for pub eats. And a REALLY GOOD fancy dinner with all the extras is about $60-70. Including alcohol.
Fancy - Le Pelicans or Hibiscus
Pizza - Southside
Pub Fare - The Sports Bar
Amazing Breakfast - Crepes and Dreams...
I loved my time on the island... and explored many locations ... ask me anything and ENJOY!!!
