Nice plaza with interesting buildings and people. Lots of action. Definately worth a visit, if you're in town.

We visited this plaza and loved it. There are so many beautiful buildings here and it is a great place to sit and eat food and people watch.

This is a great plaza to sit and people watch. There are a few places to eat and get some tasty coffee too. The architecture of the buildings is impressive.

Obviously, I had bad tour guide the last time I was in Quetzaltenango, because I had no idea that the plaza had as much going on as it does. In fact, I suspect he took us somewhere else and claimed it was the Central Plaza. This was a lovely experience, strolling around the pretty and blooming landscaping, and seeing the... More

It is a small Central Park with a lot of character. Many seats are available, which makes it more inviting to sit around during peak hours to watch the world slowly go by in Xela. The Passage Enrique lights up inside with candles and is an enchanting place to catch a dinner or take a few drinks.

this is the most impressive plaza in Guatemala by far. It exceeds Antigua's which most American's like. The buildings are attractive architecturally and well preserved.

The buildings surrounding this area are great. The church is beautiful as well and watching the people feed the pigeons is fun as well. If you are looking for gifts you can find some nice items here

Quetzaltenango is not as bad as I expected, and its central plaza has potential, fringed with a succession of facades ranging from Baroque to Neo-Classical. The square is teeming with local wanderers and little stands selling pigeon feed, fried food and cheap jewelry. A few monuments are also interesting to look at, particularly a round structure with Doric columns. Unfortunately,... More
