We arranged several private shuttle trips (Xela to Solola, Pana to Salcajá, Salcajá to Antigua), We were four people, and we couldn't be more pleased. The drivers were on time, polite, and good drivers. The vans were spacious and clean. At one point, we needed to change our schedule and destination, and that was easy to do. Love these folks!

We used Monteverde Tours to climb Volcan Tajumulco on a day trip from Xela. We corresponded via email and paid in person the evening prior. They picked us up right on time the following morning and everything went to plan. Our guide only spoke Spanish and I dont speak much Spanish, but it was fine for climbing the volcano. Their... We used Monte Verde to shuttle between Xela and Antigua. While inconvenient to wait for an hour or so to switch shuttles or wait for a shuttle that is running late, I have come to expect waits and wouldnt bother to write a negative review based on this. However, I had an experience that was truly unsafe. We were dropped... More

we traveled from Antigua to Xela on a shuttle that we reserved with Monte Verde. The trip there was fine. However, on the trip back, there was not any room on the shuttle bus for us so we waited for more than an hour at a gas station for another shuttle, which ended up also being full. We were taken... We booked onto the tour as it was good value, including two trips we wanted to do into a single excursion, whilst also including pick up and drop off. Josh, the company owner, was timely, friendly and knowledgeable about the trip and particularly the coffee farming process. The zip line tour was great, with 11 lines to zip across -... More

Monte Verde Tours was a really professional and pleasant group to work with during my recent trip to Quetzaltenango. Josh, the co-owner, helped arrange transportation from the Guatemala City airport to Xela. It was a bit circuitous, but it worked. They then set me up for two day trips which worked great for my schedule--a trip to Totonicapan, and one... More

We went on three tours with Monteverde. The first was a city tour, for which Josh was our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the city and its history and we would definitely recommend this tour. The second we did was the Fuentes Georginas hot springs, which only involved a shuttle up and down, but the minibus was nicer than... More

We went with Monteverde for the Xela-Atitlan hike which is normally done over 3 days. Since we figured out that the final night is spent just an hour from the lake (in order to see the sunrise) we asked to do it over 2 days instead. The hike itself is quite strenuous, with a 1,500 metre descent and total of... More

Had a half day tour to the market which was well organised. The market is huge and very busy. Interesting place, although the animals seemed to be suffering in poor conditions in the hot sun. We were warned of a high risk of pick pockets. I discovered my T-shirt had been slashed in a attempt to get to my wallet... More
