I took the local bus from Parque Hererra in downtown, it is scheduled to leave at 9am, but things being what they are, it waits till its full before leaving, which on that day was 9:40. That's fine, but if you want an earlier start, maybe get the earlier bus - I think it's at 7. I started in Jutiapa,... More

I love to go to La Tigra when I feel stressed and tired of the city, it's a relief to be in the nature and it's so beautiful! There are options for hiking from easy to hard so it's for everyone, it's a must in Tegucigalpa.

I like hiking La Tigra with my family and friends. Paths are clearly mark, personnel are friendly and information is available. However, as most National Parks in Honduras, it requires better infrastructure and improvement to the access ways. Which in some way is an advantage. Do not expect it to be perfectly set up for you, it is an adventure.... More

If you get there thru San Juancito, you can explore a abandones mining town. See mines entrances. And stay at the little hotel. Guides are avaible. If you thru the Jutiapa you Will see more of the tropical rain forest. Try... More

I have been here several times and would go again many more! If you plan to visit take walking shoes so that you can enjoy any of the trails. They are well kept and they are safe to walk through. You pay a very small fee to enter, which is nothing compared to how much you can enjoy being out... More

Been here several times. But my last visit was with my 4 year old and it was just perfect. There is a smaller trail you can visit that is not difficult to go through with small kids and the scenario is just beautiful. My kid loved this trip after we finished we had a picnic behind huge and beautiful trees.... More

Tegucigalpa has a cloud forest surrounding the mountains around the city, creating a unique environment and a micro climate that keeps the city cool during the days and nights, all year long. Although, due to climatic changes, it is not as cool as it was a few years ago. La Tigra is one the few areas that is still heavily... More
