Although many buildings have been added to Lumpkin Street, it still retains its pleasant on-campus atmosphere. It is a good street to stroll, or you can go on to the old campus and visit some ancient buildings, the Art Museum, and the Main Library.

From Earth Fare to Jittery Joes Coffee, I love this neighborhood. It's fun and alive. Good restaurants, specialty shops, and vintage architecture.

Lot's to do at this section of town. Pleanty of shops and little restaurants and bars. Great area to hang out and people watch.

South Lumpkin Street runs past UGA campus and has plenty of shops, restaurants, and various venues in the vicinity. The vegetarian restaurant Grit is close by and serves really fine food. I'm not a vegetarian but my wife and daughter are and we all enjoyed a great meal at Grit. There's the UGA campus one can stroll through and then... More

Five Points neighborhood. Earthfare market. Add Drug. Some coffee houses, a couple of pubs, an outdoor shop. Restaurants going up Lumpkin like Cali and Tito's. Waffle House. Some moderately priced rental housing. Nice neighborhood with lots of name recognition in Athens. Nobody in Athens calls it "South Lumpkin" -- it's Five Points.

This area should be called Five Points - it is basically the intersection of S Lumpkin Street and Milledge Avenue (Greek Life Strip) and another smaller street. Nice independent bakery, coffee houses, Organic Grocery Store, Bike Shop, Pharmacies, restaurants, an English Pub (aye mate, they show footy!) and a too-large for the area fire station with a clock tower. Very... More

Athens is (was) my favorite city and I went to UGA for grad school, but the new NON-FUNCTIONAL "park-it.com" lots ruined the night for us and many other patrons. Come on Athens! You can do better!!!

The chamber of commerce, court house , visitors center are all located downtown Athens. Also there are many eclectic type shops and places to eat. However, you must pay for parking.

Lots to do and see along this entire street from Five Points to downtown Athens with UGA to the eastside most of the way. Best car repair in Athens is at 1500 block - Butler's Automotive; Travis has taken care of up to 8 vehicles in my charge for more than 17 yrs (was head mechanic at Chevron before he... More
