Enjoyed touring 3 of the homes today, this was by fair my favourite. More furnishings and artifacts to view.

Great place for Art lovers as well as history buffs . The museum under current direction of Didi Dunphy's has brought many wonderfully curated shows as well as local artist works.only 2 blocks from center of downtown.

Recommended by the staff at the Welcome Center, we were not disappointed! Fortunately for us, there was an arts festival too! The joint was jumping! We toured the house, which was nice then walked through the craft/art displays. We could have spent hours, unfortunately we had to get back on the road. The staff & volunteers were friendly & helpful.... More

The Lyndon House Arts Center a contemporary design structure attached to a restored Italianate antebellum house (officially the Ware-Lyndon House built in 1850). This is a little off the beaten path, but definitely worth a visit. The space has gallery showings and a gift shop and often there are children's fairs and workshops offered. This is a community center and an historic setting.

Upstairs in the newest wing are exhibits with both local and other artists. We spent about 1hour. New gardens are going to be installed out the front and will be in the area to help inspire... More

We visited the art museum and attached home on our vacation to Athens. First stop was the art museum with "new" art - that is a curated collection of paintings and other fine art with a gift shop. Attached to the museum is a perfectly preserved historic home. It is fully decorated in reverence to its long history. I was... More

First, it is free. Second, they always have an exhibition and they are really good. During the summer they offer art class for kids and they are affordable and fun for the kids. They also offer art classes for adults which I plan to take in the near future.
