It takes so much time and a looong drive to reach there but views are not fascinating as compared to time. Moreover, there are 2-3 lookout points on the way but you won't see any good views from there. And, moreover it's like 10 min spending place after around 1 and 1/2 hr drive. Really, if you have some spare... More

Hiking into the Waipio Valley is a must-do adventure for any travelers in reasonable shape, and well worth the effort. The elevation gain is only 1000', which is less than a lot of day hikes in California and Colorado, and the sense of achievement as other vacationers are chauffeured in 4-wheel drive vehicles is rewarding. This year was my 4th... More

Many people love this place, but I don't get it. Yes it has views, but it's worth maybe 10 minutes. If you're planning to be near this go, visit, otherwise, don't plan a trip just for this. If you do go here, be sure to stop at the Tex Drive-In for malasadas. It looks like a dump, but trust me,... More

This is an amazing hike. You can do anything if you go slow, and feel free to take breaks on the way up to take photos behind you!

This came highly recommended from Gary (Concierge @ Sheraton) and I highly recommend this! My husband and one of our girls were complaining I booked this - but everyone in our family was extremely satisfied we did this after. The drive alone down into Waipi'o Valley is amazing! It is against the law to wear a seatbelt! Tracy & Cecil... More

Definitely a place to see! But please heed the warnings of NO FLIP FLOPS!! The hike down the road is not really that hard, but coming back up is not for the faint hearted. Bring lots of water, energy treats and take it slow... The views, the wild horses and the beach are all definitely worth the walk!

This was one of the stops on our Circle Island Tour and was the highlight of the day. I not only took pictures, but video, as well. In my opinion neither of them does justice to beauty of the valley.

Great views but plan on very limited parking, groups of tour buses and a short but steep hike. Great views but plan for a relatively short stay.

This is an easy hike down and a strenuous hike back up. We are athletic couple in our 30s and we were hoofing it back up, took us 28 min. We brought a lunch down and explored. Pretty magical to see wild horses.
