this is a must do while at volcano....very picturesque and lots of different lava flows over several years, hikes and overlooks are all through this drive and some great vistas of lava, ocean and terrain

I would say 3 to 4 hours of you don't want to feel rushed. My recommendation is to book a night at the National Park Lodge (crater view so you can see the lava glow in the dark) and then spend the followon morning on chain... More
