A gate (opened at 9:00), an imposing track through "new" lava fields, and limited on-line awareness allows this beach to remain a hidden gem on the Kona coast. Although the road in looks imposing, driven slowly, the road can be traversed by any rental, although...More

This was the first beach we went to on the Big Island and it ended up being the last one we visited before leaving as well because we loved it so much. It's out of the way so less crowded which is a huge draw....More

Recently spent an afternoon at this beach after returning from Makalawana beach. We actually enjoyed this one much better! Plenty of shade, not crowded, beautiful water and scenery. Definitely worth the bumpy ride and short walk to get there. Check it out!

Best to get there is with an SUV. The road is rough, but not many people are there. It was the best beach i have been on big island.

My wife and I went to check this one out during our honeymoon. We are very, and I do mean VERY mindful of the locals, so we don't piss anyone off. Anyways, we left the parking spot to check out the beach. We were out...More
