It took us a little bit of time to find it. The best thing to do is Google Maps with any sort of guide on your phone from the internet. The “red gate” that so many websites describe is so overgrown by bushes and trees...More

This hike isn’t very long but there is a lot of climbing over and under fallen trees. It can also be very slippery descending to the two different falls, but it is worth it. Park by the side of Kapahi road, and bring mosquito repellent.

Hike this small trail and get to a smaller waterfall that you can jump off into the deep pond below! Locals set the tone down at the fall on where to jump. Totally safe!

This is a well-traveled trail by both locals and tourists alike, so if you are looking to get away from humanity, this isn't for you. You drive into a residential neighborhood and park along the edge of the road. The day we were there I...More

A local guide told us about this hike, and are we glad we tried it. The trailhead can be tough to find as there are no signs, just a place to park in a residential area (I guess the local take down the signs to...More

Follow the directions in one of the reviews here. Very helpful. It's a short hike to a pretty waterfall and stream. Not easy to get in if you want to swim, but good for pictures and a walk.

My husband and I did this hike in the late afternoon. It was well shaded and easy to find with lots of parking by the entrance. The hike itself is not hard, but I would recommend tennis shoes or water shoes because of all the...More

We found this site easily with the information posted here and on alltrails. The opening in the bushes is easy to miss, but the trail is obvious when you see it, diagonally down from the road toward the river/stream. The most of the hike in...More

Nice hike down to a great Falls and nice swimming hole. They say to bring your bug spray but we had no bug encounters. Are wild strawberry guava on the hike back.

My daughter, husband, and I decided to hike this trail the morning before we left to go to the big island and I wish we had visited sooner. When driving to the entrance it's a bit bizarre since the entrance is located in a neighborhood....More

You were at the correct place but the dirt trail leading to the river and falls is about .25 miles on the left before the private dirt road. It's more of a skinny dirt foot path. It's marked by a electric pole that says... More
