This is probably the clearest water I have ever snorkeled in. The visibility was simply amazing! We saw lots of fish and a yellow moray eel. The water was not particularly rough, and it was easy to get pretty close to the rocks without any...More

Let me first just say that you have to do this. Then, after you do it, you will be glad that you did but will feel it didn't live up to your lofty expectations... Here is why. (1) Too many people. When we went (spring...More

My family did the Molokini Crater excursion with the Pacifica Whale Foundation. This is a must if you're in Maui. We had a perfect sunny day and the water near the crater was calm. It was as if we were swimming in a very clean...More

From the reviews and the hype I had higher expectations of what we would see snorkeling there. The water is definitely super clear, we were even there on a very rainy day and still enjoyed it. It's still very nice and there was a lot...More

The waters are ridiculously clear and teaming with life. Visibility was easily 150-200ft with several fish species, eels, turtles and an octopus sighted in less than 30 minutes. Best spot is near the crater wall, or oddly, near the boat once all the snorkelers have...More

It seems as though you can see forever under the water at the crater. I am sure that this is not actually true, but it may as well be. The sea life was vibrant and diverse. The most unique thing we saw was an eel...More

Nice site. Water conditions can vary, but it was nice and calm while I was there. Saw amazing fish and an eel. Very pretty and unique site. Went with Calypso tours. Nice ship, and fun jumping platform.

My 73 year old mother doesn’t swim and this was her first snorkeling. She was in the water by herself. My 25 year old enjoyed it too. If you get closer to the crater you’ll see more fish. I saw about 20 kinds of colorful...More

I took a scuba diving charter (Prodiver) to Molokini Crater. Despite the rough waters on the way out, the crater was relatively calm as it's sheltered from the currents and surge. The visibility was probably around 150 feet. I can't begin to name all of...More

I am 62 years old and did not need a wet suit. We went in April. I did not notice any difference between the Crater and on shore. Cool at first, just jump in and start swimming you'll do fine.

Yes, There is one boat rental company, but you cannot anchor there, must use a mooring and they are for commercial vessels only until 10AM.
