Yeah, ok, so the eruption was a thousand years ago and the red-hot laval flowed out the end of the tube. Still, it's cool seeing where the river of lava once flowed from the inside of a lava tube.

This is a self-guided lava tube tour below ground in Hana. You are equipped with a flashlight and a "See you when you return!" I will admit I may have watched too many suspense/horror films in my day making me think I might just have...More

If you have time, this is worth a quick stop. Watch your head entering the cave and wear close toed shoes.

I found a small reference to this lava tube location *somewhere* and we made a point of stopping in on our way to Hana. It is on private property, with parking and portaloos, and for a modest $12 or so we got some information on...More

We visited with our kids and parents and were amazed at the beauty of this site. You are given flashlights and walk down a set of stairs to the entrance. There is no lighting inside the tube which is amazing. Seeing lava in many different...More

This place is terrible. Its basically a hole in some guys backyard that he charges too much for while shoving political propaganda down your throat. What a waste of time, gas, and money. These are con artists. Stay away and just enjoy Hana.

The entrance fee is $12, which seems somewhat high. They give you a flashlight and you walk through the tunnel on a self guided tour. The entire visit takes less than an hour. Some of the formations are very beautiful.

I missed this attraction on my first trip to Maui several years ago. I was determined to see it the second time around and am so glad that I did! I encourage everyone to make a quick stop off the Road to Hana to visit...More

I wasn't sure if we should stop here on the way to Hana as we had to wait about an hour for it to open, as it does open rather late for those who have made an early start to Hana. We almost didn't wait...More

We found this in our guide book while on the road to Hana. I must say it was one of the best things we saw in Maui. The other lava tube we experienced on the big island (in volcano national park) is a major let...More
