You can paddle out to the island but it's still nice to look at from the land. It was larger than I was expecting and the mythology behind the island is quite interesting (it is said to be the remains of a giant lizard tail chopped off by Hi'iaka). You can see it from the Pali lookout, but the best... More

I was so excited to see the famous Chinaman's Hat while on Oahu. It did not disappoint. Such an iconic feature! Now when we see it in the background in movies we can say "We've been there!"

The chinaman's hat is a cool little island right off the shore of the Northern tip of Oahu. You can kayak out to it, and explore, but otherwise it makes for a nice interest piece while relaxing at the park. We stopped to give our daughter a rest from the long circle around the island, and snapped a few pictures.

This stop was recommended by a friend who lived on Oahu for a few years. We launched a kayak from the beach and paddled the 1/3 mile across to the island. The climb to the top took about 20 - 25 min each way, but did have some short, 10-15 foot, vertical climbs. Even on an overcast day, the view... More

Great place to stop by and take a couple pictures while on the way to another attraction. We did see some people climbing the mountain which would have been exciting to do.

This island has some outstanding views and scenery. This location is good for pictures and scenic views, but there's a ton of place that blow good place away in my opinion.

We took a tour in the Kualao Ranch boat to go and see Chinaman's Hat from nearby and it was nice, water was calm and nice sunny day. Lots of fun. We also went to the beach across to take picture of Chinaman's Hat (park right across from Kualao Ranch) and that was nice and peaceful too.

We saw this from a bus tour but would have liked to stop for some photos. If you are a photographer at heart you must stop here for a few photos. Also, just down the street, on the side of a building is an artist's rendition of this land mass and a photo of it is a must as well.

There are numerous places along Kam Highway to view this islet. I think the best is from Kualoa Regional Park. Makes a nice picture.

The GPS took us to a park with a clear view of Chinaman's Hat. Cool to see and stop by, don't need a lot of time to spend on this stop.
