Cathedral in Algiers overlooking the bay of the Capital city. Completed in 1872, this splendid building of neo-bysantine architecture is ornately decorated in the inside in the Spanish-Moorish decor. Unique in its genre, it is probably one of the...more

This is one of the historical places of the city, commemorating Christian presence in a Muslim country and still existing and well preserved. The saying goes that it points to the same basilic in France. The view from there on Algiers is just awesome.

Thank you for your wonderful review. Yes, Notre Dame d'Afrique is quite unique especially with its invocation in the sanctuary "Notre Dame d'Afrique, priez pour nous et pour les Muslims - Our Lady of Africa, pray for us and for Muslims".

A ckear and wide beautiful view of Algiers and the sea, however, the place is not too cozy for a long visit, too much people and a lot of neighborhood children just playing soccer or sitting there. I advise to go in day time when...More

Not many touristic things to visit in Algiers but the Basilique is surely one of those places to do. Super nice view of Algiers from there, and inside the Basilique is really worth the detour

We visited this recently renovated basilica on a weekday. There is a parking lot attached to the basilica with ample parking places. The exterior and interior of the basilica are very impressive. No pictures are allowed inside the basilica, but there is a small bookstore...More

Historic church with great view to Mediterranean. It is one of old churches in Algeria like one in ORAN and one in Annaba.

The Church has been maintained well and is beautifully decorated within. There is a well stocked book shop and the views over the Western side of the City make the effort to get there well worth while.

Our guide took us to the Cathedral and the views from up there are breathtaking. The inside is beautiful. Women must cover their shoulders to get in.
