Fès Festival of World Sacred Music is a famous event that gathers a great list of international artists. The festival is the opportunity to discover world artists while visiting different great locations and monuments of Fès. The venue of the main concert, Bab Al Makina, is just stunning !

The festival is a 8-9 day one with multiple events through the day at cultural landmarks within the medina and outside. Most events require tickets (quite expensive, priced at 20, 30 or 50 euros depending on the event) except for the free Sufi nights at 11pm. One can also buy festival passes at 300 euros if that works out cheaper.... More

I happened to be in Morocco on business and took a chance on getting a ticket at the door. Fortunately I got in and am so grateful. I will definitely return and attend more artists in the future. The opening ceremony is held in the courtyard at the city wall entrance to the royal palace. Incredible lighting effects project static... More

This long dreamed of Festival was very well planned, prepared, and executed. I would love to have a video of Opening night at the Bab al Makina. You really got to see and hear many of the performers for all of the venues of the Festival. It was exquisite. I highly recommend the Nights of the Medina concerts and of... More

Good timing and good luck! I arrived at Fes just when the festival was starting. Caught a few performances. Really cool!

Good fun, organisation shambolic at times but essentially worked - not worth buying most expensive seats (they are all uncomfortable) so worth while bringing your own cushion - not much english translation so brush up your french - worth doing some homework as some of the bands were not great, some excellent, a couple really excellent.

We came for all 10 days of the Festival on some friends' recommendation and had been very attracted to visit Morocco. We bought the full pass to all the events. The true highlights were few, though extraordinary. The opening event, Conference des Oiseaux, at the enormous Bab al Makina venue, was spectacular. The lines were long and the pass scanners... Its great to visit Fez at the time of the festival. There is wonderful electricity in the air, and it adds another dimension to the medina experience.
