We just completed a 6 night tour of northern Morocco with Roaming Camels, and it was an outstanding experience. We made the decision to go just one week prior and contacted 6 private tour companies to ask for itineraries and quotes. The prompt and personalized response we received from Kathi at Roaming Camels immediately impressed us. She asked questions to ensure that she understood exactly what we were aiming for, and then prepared a detailed itinerary with room to adjust as much as we wanted. To our surprise, the Roaming Camels quote was significantly more cost-effective than those from other companies; yet the communication and the actual experience were just what we were hoping for. After our arrival from the US in Casablanca, we drove to Rabat for the night. The next day, we drove to Fez for 2 nights, via Volubilis where we had a private tour of the ruins. In Fez, we also had a private tour of the medina. Next we went to Chefchaouen for 2 nights, and our wonderful guide, Ahmed, took us on an 8 mile hike in the Riff foothills around the city before exploring the medina. Our final night was in the picture postcard Atlantic coast city of Assilah. We loved every moment of our Morocco trip and give a high recommendation to Roaming Camels. Having a private guide allowed us to make changes as needed throughout the trip, and we enjoyed getting to know our delightful guide and driver. The arrangements, itinerary, riads (especially Dar Chaouen in Checchaouen), the special tours and restaurant recommendations were absolutely wonderful.

Kathi was most helpful and arranged a well planned 16 day itinerary for me and my husband offering us suggestions and including our requests of additional nights for a relaxed trip. Our original booking was for April 2020 but due to unforseen personal circumstances we were able to reschedule for September 2020 and unfortunately this was cancelled due to Covid19. Kathi responded promptly to all inquiries from initial planning through to refund of deposit.
When international travel is again available to us we will travel to Morocco and we will be booking with Roaming Camels as I am sure the trip they provide will be as exceptional as the customer service so far received.

Our experience touring Morocco with Roaming Camels was FANTASTIC!!
Rashid is an excellent driver and he is super kind, always helpful, and eager to share his knowledge of Morocco. Our guide, Mustapha, is really awesome and took the tour to the next level. His passion for Morocco is contagious. He is super knowledgable, enthusiastic, and generous, and he always looked out for the tour group.
The tour itself was well thought out, well-paced, and covered the best of the country. They made sure that we supported the country in the best way possible–– such as by visiting artisan cooperatives. And they were very conscious that we didn't support animal abuse, which I very much appreciate.
Super recommend hiring Roaming Camels to experience the best of Morocco with the best people. Be sure to request Rashid and Mustapha!

This trip was absolutely amazing! Abdelhadi, our driver, was so kind and made our trip so enjoyable. We felt so safe with his driving and took us to amazing viewpoints and stops along the way to the desert. He helped us throughout the entire trip and he even acted as our own photographer - he walked alongside our camel ride to take photos of my friends and I and they turned out amazing! Roaming Camels was so accommodating and had great communication from the minute I began to speak with them about booking this trip! I would highly highly recommend using this company and asking for Abdelhadi as your driver- he is so knowledgeable and kind!

From bustling cities to quiet villages, the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara, kasbahs and medinas, climbing desert dunes for sunset and riding camels at sunrise, bonfire dancing and visiting with locals, and seeing Africa from a hot air balloon - words can’t describe what an incredible time we had in Morocco!
Mustapha is a truly wonderful guide; kindhearted and personable, organized and adventurous, always accounting for our safety and well-being, with a passion for showing his travellers the beauty of Morocco. He genuinely went out of his way to enrich our experience beyond an itinerary, in a way that wouldn’t have been possible for us to do on our own travels.
We left with incredible memories.

Above and beyond our expectations. Kathi and Mustapha were great at planning our weeks adventures and I’m grateful for their patience in answering our questions. From our airport pick up to last day drop off, everything was as we had asked and planned perfectly. Our accommodations were all lovely, food recommendations delicious, and had wonderful guides at every tour. Yosef was very knowledgeable and led a wonderful half-day Marrakesh tour, he even helped with bargaining for special purchases at the soulks. Jamal and Hasan with our night food tour were entertaining and encouraged us to try local cuisine. Hmad was our overall guide for the week and went above and beyond to make sure we were all well fed, educated, and entertained. He always greeted us with a smile, and helped answer all of our questions. Saaid was our driver for the week and besides being a good driver, he was also entertaining and knowledgeable. We highly recommend using Roaming Camels and hope to visit again in the future!

We are so glad we chose Roaming Camels for our trip to Morocco on the recommendation of a friend. Kathi and Mustapha are friendly and easy to work with. They designed the perfect itinerary that included everything we asked for and kept in close touch with us throughout the entire trip.
Bashir, our outstanding driver for 10 days, safely delivered us to each location at the expected times where our new hosts and guides were expecting us. We couldn’t have asked for a friendlier and more helpful companion and we could not have done it ourselves. We appreciate his dedication to logistics, safe driving, a tidy and well maintained vehicle, interesting and helpful information, and much needed bottles of water. If you go to Morocco, definitely ask for Bashir!
Our local hosts presented us with unparalleled hospitality. From customary tea receptions and rooms always ready, to assistance with our bags and the most delicious thoughtfully presented meals: all freshly cooked, freshly picked, freshly squeezed. We were so pleased.
Our local guides were equally impressive with their knowledge of history, interesting stories, engaging walking tours, and excellent communication. Our cooking class was a highlight of our trip that we will never forget. We highly recommend Roaming Camels.

We will also highly recommend Roaming Camels as the reviews here will testify. Our experience was excellent, our driver Ridouan was a wonderful match for us. While being a graceful and confident driver he managed to assist us in whatever our requirements were. He found breathtaking scenic roads to hikes that we wanted to try, had wonderful ideas for activity options and assisted in the mundane bits that can foil any traveler - like laundry or the urgent need for coffee or WC. He seamlessly arranged meeting our occasional guides, was always on time, had a good sense of humor, and shared a great deal of his knowledge of the country, the people, the geography and history with us.
We travelled a circuit over 12 days from 1/17/2023 to 1/28/2023 with Roaming Camels; Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fez, Merzouga, Dades Valley, Skoura area, Essaouira, Marrakesh that was modified to our preferences by Kathi and Mustapha to suit our desires. Any issues or problems were dealt with promptly and graciously.
Our experience was overwhelmingly positive. We loved Morocco; the architecture, the geography, the food, the people. Five Stars!

We booked a 3-day trip from Fez to Marrakesh with a stop in the desert.
The organisation and the communication of the trip was very fluent and professional.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19, we had to cancel our trip.
We had paid a deposit and without any problem, they paid the deposit back.
I hope we can travel to Maroc very soon to see the wonderful country and we will certainly make use of their services again.

We used Roaming Camels to organize a weeklong trip to Morocco with our family (parents and two teens). One thing that is important to know about traveling with Roaming Camels is that they take care of *everything* and you just decide the length of the trip and type of lodging you want. It's really a relief to have all of the details handled.
Our trip was an amazing experience. Our guide, Hicham, was knowledgable and friendly. Our driver, Hakim, was a very safe driver. The lodging they arranged was excellent: very beautiful riads (for instance, the one where we stayed in Rabat was a hand restoration by the owner that took over ten years and every detail was beautiful) and hotels.
Everybody went out of their way to make our experience memorable. Here is an example: my teen son is a passionate soccer player, and Hakim and Hicham arranged for my son to play in an indoor pickup game with some young adults in Rabat, which he loved. I am very interested in handcrafted tiles, and Hicham helped me purchase a handmade tile table at a co-op in Fes.
Highly recommend Roaming Camels if you want to see Morocco in a personal and caring way!

It will depend on how much you want to spend each day, where you choose to eat and what hotels you stay in. To be honest it is a very individual choice. A bottle of water is around €2 for a litre bottle. Lunch can be around €10 per person or more. It will depend on your budget and lifestyle.
