The only place we felt unsafe during our stay in marrakech!! It's all organized crime only in there!! They try to give you a tour or force sell. The people get hostile if you try to get rid of them and start to follow where...More
First of all, there is a reason its in a dodgy area of town, no one wants to live near that smell! We read about the Tanneries in a guide book and figured we'd go take a look. I trawled through the reviews on here...More

If I could rate this with 0 stars and still warn you I would. We wanted to visit the tanneries, to check them out at the urging of many guide books. We were left with a lasting negative impression. We checked out the tanneries, and...More

I agree with the above posts. The tanneries whilst interesting and rather smelly are not worth the hassle you will get in trying to find them and more importantly the sales tactics which are the most aggressive in Marrakech.
