Spent 3 nights in Marrakech Medina last week and hated the place. Absolutely every single trader bar none sees western people as walking money trees. I found the place interesting and enjoyed seeing the souks but the relentless harassment just ruined my time there. It was a relief to retreat back to the secluded roof terrace of our riad and... Such a different world with small alleyways, workers making leather and metal goods, shops, museums, galleries, stalls, fruit markets etc etc I actually stayed in the Medina of Marrakech at a riad called Dar Nour El Houda, a lovely place. Ate at some lovely restaurants there such as Dar Tazi. All so very well priced for a bargain break. It... More

On our trip in Marrakech Medina was on our list to do. as soon as we come out from the hotel we were approached by ,,tour guide,, who offered us to take around Medina, which we thought would be good idea as it was our first day in Marakech. He toke us only to the stands which were paying him... More

The Medina is a huge assault on the senses! At night particularly there is so much going on everywhere and a whole array of sights to take in. But you need to be very careful and keep your wits about you as money really talks and just taking a picture could cost you! There are snake charmers around that will... More

A very different cultural experience which I enjoyed immensely! The medina is a very busy & noisy place but also very vibrant and colourful. Need to watch out for scooters and taxis which seem to drive in any direction. A great idea is to see the Medina from one of the restaurant/cafe roof terraces. Great view of the Medina &... More

It felt like I was in Aladdin. The streets are winding and sometimes narrow. There are many sights and smells. Everything is new. I would recommend finding a great tour. I'm afraid the one I went on was complete rubbish. That did not detract from a truly amazing space.

This is a hard one to rate as I can understand all the negative points people make - but personally I loved it and think it is one of those things you can only decide for yourself... I would definitely say go as its free to look and if you don't like it, leave or seek refuge in one of... More

Be very careful when purchasing items from the stalls in the market - especially stalls that sell herbs / saffron/ musk / argan oil etc. We visited one of these with a Dutch lady that lives in Marrakech and the owner of the stall explained that they have 2 different types of product - one they sell to the locals...
