Nice place surrounded by the ocean. Pity that except for natural secluded island feel there is nothing else to offer. Even beach umbrellas are charged for. A poor excuse for a restaurant is run by a group of shabby gents who only cook bad food...More

Must try, if you are in Dar es Salaam do not miss the opportunity. I went in the morning 0930 and back at 1700. On the way back the ocean's waves and the wind wet me, I don't know if the sailor was adequately trained...More

The island is pretty but the actual beach is very small and you must have a guide to go into the forest. Having paid for the boat ride over and then the entry to the island, we were also charged for matts, umbrellas, seats etc....More

there can be some improvements when it comes to food but the overall visit was quite good i give it a 4 star. would rate it higher if there was a big variety of menu to choose from.

20 minute boat ride delivers you to a tropical island, white sands and warm clean waters. Food and drinks abound and the walk around the island is a 1 hour walk (low tide) Watch out for greedy hawkers regarding the seating / bandas

Over priced and they take the biscuit because you're a foreigner, nit much to do there. Expect to spend $100 per person minimum

Bongoyo is a nice place to relax especially on sunny days. You can hand out with family and friends, read books and play outdoor games besides swimming

I've been there many times during the past 20 years. Can't understand why you complain over (or deny) paying a few shillings for a banda (umbrella). Tanzania is a poor country and to me it seems totally legitimate that they charge for services.
