It takes 6 days of trekking (85 km) but it is really worth doing it. I wouldn't say it is dangerous, but it is very demanding. Very demanding. So, If you are not an experienced trekker, think twice before doing it. I saw many people giving up before reaching the summit. Other than that, it is a Lifetime Experience.

We choose Kilimanjaro Impatiens Adventure and We had a very good experience. We did both Kilimanjaro (8 days Lemosho route) and Safari (5 days) with this agency and everything was perfect. I felt like I was always in very good hands the entire time I was on the mountain, and you could really tell what a good job they do... More

Chance and Barafu Tours were awesome! The team they put together is just phenomenal. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or refer them to any of my closest friends. The took great care of us and their cooks/chefs are amazing!

A good friend of mine climbed Kili using Barafu Tours last year and raved about her experience, so my friend and I decided to use them for our recent climb. Chance and his team of expert guides (huge shoutout to Imran, Muhammed, and Rafael) and the rest of the amazing staff really exceeded any and all expectations we had for... More

5 days Machame route was amazing! We came after acclimatization on mount Kenya, so it was easier. First 3 days were pole-pole (slowly slowly), and the last day was the summit day. Started walking at midnight, and made it to the summit a few minuets before 6, just to see all the colors before the sunrise! It was a very... More

Had a great trek up Mount Kilimanjaro with Kelvin as our guide, he is the head guide of KiliDestinations. We did the 7 day Machame route trek, the food was great all the way up, Kelvin was so nice and helpful and everything ran smoothly. We were really well fed going up and down the mountain, the sleeping bags we... More

Used Barafu Tours & Safaris for my recent (11/19/16) climb up Kilimanjaro, and my expectations and mind were blown by the excellent service provided by the Barafu family. Our guides (Shoutout to Imran, Mohammed, and Rafael) were patient, knowledgeable, and easy to hang with. Our food was restaurant-quality (Chef Abbus) and served by Pray, our thoughtful waiter. The climb was... More

I kind of got press ganged in to climbing Kilimanjaro (in reality it's a tough walk). This was a really tough trek, we prepared well in advance, regularly trekking in the Brecons and Snowdonia for over a year. The journey up Kili was amazing, we did it with the African Walking Company and they were amazing, the logistics, setting up... More

I recently returned from a 2-week excursion to Tanzania to climb Mt.Kilimanjaro and take a short safari. Step Bush Safaris was the company we used for our arrangements for both. The experience waa awesome, and totally different than anything else I have done. We climbed Kili using the Machame route (7 days). I was pleasantly suprised at every turn-from the... More
