A must go. From Mides to Tamerza 4.5 km hike just excellent. Nothing much to stay at Mides- and not many facilities. But probably this is better to stay like this.

Important: Using google map may confuse you and you may end up with same name in middle of nowhere. So look for Mides/

Waterfall in mountain oasis Chebika at border of Sahara, Tunisia is such a another day in paradise again.
You will walk for a few minutes from the main road where 4 WDs parked. There are some souvenir shops, restaurants here.I have a delicious palm juice at one souvenir shop where we shopped. The surrounding around me here is so beautiful. I can't stop gazing mountains, palm trees and waterfall. Our tour guid named Uni from VLT tour, made our trip beautiful again. You must see this.

What an experience! Stone deserts are a very impressive type of landscape, and Tamerza is quite high in this respect as well. If you can spare the time, go for it!

I remember visiting Tamerza canyon with my parents when I was younger and being amazed at the beauty of the untouched nature. A bit out of the way but a must do.

Great view, nice walk with the water and the sand. Two side of this beautiful place come together to show something unique. Visited more than 10 years ago, still remember most of it.

This was so beautiful. We walked up the mountain and through the canyon and around all the palm trees. The waterfalls are beautiful. Wear some good shoes and bring water. It is a good hike. But well worth the views you will see. It's a must di while you are in Tunisia.

The Tamerza Canyon is an easy day trip from Tozeur, it is also included on most 2 day desert safari packages. It is north of the town, across the Chott el Gharsa and up into the mountains. It is very popular with tourists and the car park is full of 4WD vehicles. It is a pleasant cooling walk beside the river that runs down the canyon. You can swim if you like, but it isn't very private. There are lots of stalls selling crystals and desert rose along the footpath. There is no changing facilities if you want to swim - or dry off before getting back in the 4WD's.
