Relive the historical journey taken by David Livingstone by exploring the mighty Zambezi aboard the Ra-Ikane. Named after his guide, the boats are full of old world charm, setting a romantic and intimate setting whilst you sit back, relax and take in the surrounding views. With a maximum of 16 seats available on each boat, the Rai-Kane offers a unique vantage point for viewing birdlife and wildlife up-close on the islands along the river. This is unquestionably an activity to add to your bucket list when in Victoria Falls.

I was looking for a sunset cruise and most the packages seem to put you on large boats where you are packed in with dozens of people. I learned about Ra-Ikane from a New York Times review and it was perfect. It was only maybe...More

A beautiful way to enjoy the river at sunset. The boat is small so it was more personal. Sipping cocktails while cruising and gazing at a stunning sunset was amazing. The crew was great too. A very nice way to spend an evening at Victoria...More

We were collected from our hotel and taken to the Ra-Ikane, a small and comfortable boat. Our party of nine enjoyed the exclusive use of this boat. Our driver was informative about the animals and the Zambezi River. We were lucky to watch elephants crossing...More

The trip was super well organised and very close to town and Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. The Boat: The boat we went on accommodated about 12 people and it is one level. There are bathrooms at the start location and also on the boat. No...More

A sunset cruise on the Zambezi is 'up there' with seeing the Falls. We stayed at Ilala Lodge and were collected and returned to the lodge. It's just a 15 minute drive to the pontoon and our luxury boat. The cruise lasted about 2.5 hours...More

We very much enjoyed our cruise on the Ra-Ikane - as others point out you will see a variety of wildlife including hippo in abundance. The boat is well appointed and takes you back to a bygone era - the only issue was the searing...More

We received this trip as part of our package when staying at ilala. I’d say we’re not normally cruise type people but this was really good. We had a good abd knowledgeable captain in Abel and were blessed with many hippos and crocs, along with...More

Overall, the sunset Ra-ikane cruise was beautiful. The boat crew were very knowledgeable and were good at spotting different wildlife. Unfortunately, the staff at the Ilala Lodge booking office were very dishonest. We rang up to book and we were told the sunset cruise cost...More

Sorry to hear that. Prices are indeed set and specials are run but as an Ilala Lodge guest you were indeed entitled to the special rate. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We have been on many sunset cruises on the Zambezi and Chobe rivers. This was one of the best. Definitely the best and most beautiful boat. A medium-sized old-fashioned teak boat, which is a replica of Livingstone's boat. A small number of passengers - approx...More
