Bordering Burkina Faso and accessible via rough tracks, the park is inhabited by many wild animals you may not be used to see often in Western Africa. Due to the lack of funding and state support, the park sometimes looks a bit abandoned and the...More

I was there for three days in the dry season so shouldve seen a lot more animals than we did. Not up to par with anything in east africa or southern africa at all in terms of facilities. Some of the animals I did see...More

We visited Pendjari in mid November. It was mid-dry season and the park administration was doing the annual controlled burn of the dry grasslands. We were told that the burn was done to prevent an uncontrollable wildfire that would likely occur later in the season,...More

Contrary to South Africa the park here is less organized. But the guide we took was quite good and experienced. We travelled in the morning from Naititingou to the park (approx. 5h). This part of the trip should not be underestimated and make sure your...More

Our experience in the Pendjari National Park was absolutely fantastic! However, we believe the key to a really good experience is by obtaining a really good guide! We feel we would not have seen half of the animals without our guide. Alfred, the owner of...More

A true gem in an area where wildlife and natural areas are rapidly disappearing. I've been twice, and both times have been wonderful - tons of elephants and ruminants, hippos, crocs, baboons and monkeys, warthogs, a honey badger, an small cat whose name I forget,...More

Hello, My name is Jackie. I live in the states. I've just been reading some of the Pendjari reviews with great interest. My daughter is now in The Gambia with the Peace Corps and I am searching for an authentic safari type trip for her and my two daughters and myself that won't leave me penniless. I am looking at travel January 2018. What is the nearest airport? Did you book safari trips through hotels or travel agent? Thank you for any help you can provide.

Can you fly from Cotonou to Pendjari Park? I can't find any private airlines that operate that route or even have individualized flights.
