We took a look just for the experience, but just about everything on offer is geared more towards locals, understandably. Fascinating to see how they organise everything though, especially at the start or end of the day.

Nice to have a walk there, but nothing special. Mainly chinese products with few exceptions. If you have never been in a Caboverdian market, you should go.

My daughter took us here while we were visiting. It can be a little scary, but I never felt threatened. It was a very interesting place and we found some great local handmade souvenirs.

One could find great deals here, small maze type outdoor cubes, prizes are lower than other stores in town, if you can take the heat, go for a walk thru sacupira.

I'm not trying to diss the market but in my honest opinion there's nothing special here. I'm reading words like bustling (it wasn't on the Sat I went), large (it's no bigger than a football pitch, maybe two at most) and adrenaline...?? Possibly reflects the...More

Cape Verde I like to say is "Africa without being in Africa!" However when you come to Mercado de Sucupira, an old fashion flea market, you trully experiment the African Flavor... Very tine places with a lot, I mean a lot of things for sale....More
