I personally don't consider this beach to be a prime choice in Praia. One may walk along it either on the way to Prainha or Quebra Canela - two beaches located a little further on though one may eventually come across some colourful shells.

Although it's a decent venue for festivals and the like. Sadly it's just a not very aesthetically pleasing place, either as a beach or in terms of the views it offers. For swimming head to e.g. Prainha beach further round the coast instead.

This is one of the two decent beaches in Santiago Island, and iis the only one near our hotel. The sand is dark and very fine, so it flies around in the strong wind. The water is very clean and calm,, because it is protected...More

Nice and clean, sandy beach- the locals walk the surf and workout. Good place for a swim, as it is sheltered and the beach is without stones.

A nice beach but there are more beautiful beaches in Praia. Several live concerts are held at this location.

I went to the beach to hang out and there was like 2 people there. It was a black sand beach and there was nothing really there in terms of shops, snacks, toilets, etc. If you want a quiet place, it was not bad going...More

In the city, go during the week at midday to enjoy a quiet time. Other times, nice family friendly crowd. Very clean place, no vendors around to bother you.

This is a beach close to the centre of Praia. It has a floodlit football pitch on it, but it is not really suitable for swimming or sunbathing. The main use of the beach is as a launching and storage place for small boats.

Well if you have ever seen pictures of Cape verde beaches on the internet or in travel agents brochures, then this will surprise you as it did me. I hope that the governments see this as they need to take action as its getting out...More

Gamboa Beach is not very pretty and doesn't have soft sand. I don't think it's suitable for swimming. But that being said, it adds a really nice feeling to downtown Praia. You can't go wrong building your town on a beach. There were fishing boats...More
