This was the third museum we went to and the most expensive - it was not our favorite, but when I did the math and realized it was all of about $8 to get it, it was worth it! We did have a guide, which...More

Really interesting trip up the mountain up to an altitude of 3,000 m. The small museum is quite interesting as is the palace.

Head there for nice views, some fresh air and a walk in the nature. But Menelik's palace is underwhelming and the museum not worth the high entrance fee.

We were not overly impressed with the small museum with limited selection of artifacts. Also, the bear walled "Palace" doesn't do much to titillate one's visions of monarchical affluence. Also, the view from the hill is marred by the overgrown trees and ever-present smog over...More

Be prepared for the altitude up here. We visited on our 2nd day in Addis and a few of our group really felt the altitude - bit faint and light-headed. The museum was a little bit expensive but still worthwhile. On the way back into...More

Entoto Hill is literally a breath of fresh air and topped with a museum, church, and first palace amidst a forest of eucalyptus trees. The road up has a bunch of trails including some with amazing views of Addis Ababa.

On a one day visit, I would definitely include this site on your itinerary. It does not take very long to get there, and the site itself only takes a short time to see everything, but with a good guide you can get a nice... More
