St. Michel is a fascinating church, with mosaics in front and amazing carved columns that illustrate Bible stories, and I'm told, local legends as well. It's a huge space, open to the air, of course, and manages to capture the local artistic style beautifully. Worth...More

worth seeing traditional painting and carvings on the church. except now a man with mental health issues is always at the church - he is quite aggressive. he doesn't like white people esp french. so do not go alone.

Very unique wood work. Each column tells/explains bible verse. There is one for creation, Adam and Eve, Tower of Babel, and etc. Very interesting to check out each carving.

Reputation as a must visit attraction in Libreville is well deserved. Excellent woodwork in the church, lots of details of the observant traveller, stories, people and myths from the christian mythology come alive in this church.

The woodwork of this church is a must for tourist. It is not at all a tourist trap. The surroundings are however not impressive.
