Having visited a couple of beaches in Libreville, my husband and I were excited at the prospect of a quieter/cleaner prospect. We went to Pointe Denis on a Sunday, which is the most popular day of the week for people to visit. We took a ferry from Michel Marine which cost us 12000 CFA round trip/person. The ferry left at... Pointe Denise is a must do in Libreville, Gabon... who wouldn't enjoy miles of white sand on a rather clean and beautiful island. Tourists should book small water taxi to reach there. It takes about half an hour to reach there. Life vests are provided to everyone. The island has a few lodges and some private villas. We visited the... More

awesome spot. Perhpas they need to be a little more clued up with tourist options - but we went on a walk with guides in the nearby forest, plain and mangrove swamp. Beach is really great and the water as warm as a bath and crystal clear.

We went to the beach just to change with friends. It was a sunny day. Water was warm. As we were walking along the beach, the other side of where we were having fun,we found people who were finish a catch a big fish.

The first impression I got was that the Gabonese aren't much of beach-goers. Miles of pristine beaches, and not a soul in sight. Literally had the run of the place ask to myself. Unfortunately, there aren't very many public conveniences, nor are there any good restaurants etc for a cool beer. So pretty much just walked around there without entering... More

The beach is very quiet and since it is not all that easy to get to it is pretty deserted. But the beach itself is lovely and it is nice not to have to deal with tourists etc.

There are two options you can take, the do-it-ourself-trip and go to point denise beach by water taxi where I was told there are restaurants or get the all inclusive to the complex Bay of the Turtles (Baie des Tortues) which includes transportation, access to the resort with beach beds and pool + food. Their beach is on the other... More

Pointe Denis is lovely get away from the rush of Libreville with very clean beach, nice and calm environment. But tourist with experience of more advanced cities and with high expectation will be completely dissapointed. There is no planned activity and would be boring for anyone going alone. It is calm and beautiful after sunset but no single activity available... More

Good Place to visit on a Week-end. Calm and silent place to relax our self for the day. We have limited transports to reach the place but if we opt for a private ferry we can go as per our wish. Food was Ok, and not much costlier.
