Old colonial style wooden residence situated near Moka. All original features and furniture worth seeing. Visited as part of a cruise shore excursion. Served local snacks and drinks at end of house and garden tour.

Lunch was the best food we had in two weeks on Mauritius. Highly recommend! People were really nice, garden was lovely, waterfall amazing, house was beautiful, almost like a time capsule. Hope they have the money to renovate it properly, would be a shame to...More

The house was not really worth the 300rs per person, run down and not well looked after. Thought the water falls out the back were a nice surprise.

Took us a good while to work out where this house was. When eventually we did, and paid the disinterested staff the entry fee (was this because we didn't speak French?), we moved to the house. There was one guide who had already started showing...More

Maison Eureka is much more than "just" a grand colonial estate. First it was the beutiful garden with heart shaped planting that immediately touched my husband's and my soul. The estate itself has probably been refurbished, for it is in excellent condition, giving a good...More

Beautiful history behind the house with a small hike down to see the waterfall. A bit slippery however easy to find your way down and up.

The visit to Eureka cost 300 RS a person. The building and the rooms take you back to the colonial time, but you are rather fast finished with walking through the house. There is no information about the history of the place unfortunately. There is...More

This small wooden cottage is difficult to find and not worth visiting. For R300, one can also visit a so called “waterfall”: meaning crowling 15 minutes in the mud through jungle to see... ehh... a water stream?

Currently Eureka is not so much a tourist attraction as a tourist curiously. And for that reason alone you should definitely go and visit it. And while you’re there, give them double the entrance price so they can put it towards the urgently needed renovations....More
